C++ History


It is a middle-level language and develops by the Bjarne Stroustrup.

 

Bjarne Stroustrup is the founder of C++ language.

 

It is started in 1979 at AT&T Bell Labs.

 

C++ runs various platforms such as Mac OS, Windows and the many versions of UNIX. He added features of C remains unaffected.

 

C++ includes some of the additional features such as classes, basic Inheritance, inlining, strong type checking, and default function arguments.

 

Its main purpose of C++ is to make writing good programs easier and more pleasant for an individual programmer. It is the extension to the C language.

 

In C language already used increment operator (++).

 

Therefore we called C++ as the incremented of the C language.

 

It means the extension of the C language.


Versions of C++ language

There are several versions present in the market. They are Visual C++, Borland C++, Turbo C++

  • Algol Developed By International Group in 1960.
  • BCPL Developed By Martin Richard in 1967.
  • B Developed By Ken Thompson in 1970.
  • Traditional C Developed By Dennis Ritchie in 1972.
